Craig Lodge Community News Snippets.
- Desperately Seeking Former Craig Lodge Community Members - Craig Lodge Community Council is undertaking a review of the role of the House Community. As many past members as possible are being contacted and asked to fill in a questionnaire about their time in community. Their thoughts and ideas are so valuable and will help us to look back and understand better where God has been at work in the Community over the last 16 years. The hope is that this review will then help the Council in its decisions in the future. If you have not been contacted it is because we do not have your current contact details. PLEASE get in touch – we would love to hear from you and we will send you a copy of the questionnaire.
- Maria Byars back safely with news of Liberia - We are all delighted to have Maria back with us after her month in Liberia visiting SIR’s projects there. It was clearly a thought provoking trip. Liberia is a country that has been torn apart by man’s greed. A visit there raises questions about our own country’s role in the world as a major arms trader. It also strengthens faith in the basic goodness of man; teachers who continue to work despite not receiving wages for months on end, former child soldiers now working with young people.
- Prayer Groups in local schools - Thanks to the faith and courage of Denise Roberts, ably assisted by members of the House Community, the weekly prayer groups continue in 2 local schools. The prayer group in the High School is a particular joy given this is a non-denominational school. It is held during the lunch time break and is attended by children of other faiths as well as Catholics.
- Prayer Intentions
- Mary Downie as she volunteers in Liberia for a few weeks.
- Joe – forthcoming Higher exams
- A bigger, bolder cross graces the hill behind Craig Lodge - Calum’s determined efforts to witness to the Good News of our Salvation by erecting a clearly visible cross on the hill that overlooks Dalmally paid off this Holy Week. Thanks to the joinery skills of George and the muscles of a whole team including Les and Magnus and Antonio, a 16 foot, wooden, Celtic-style cross now surveys the Strath of Orchy. Praise God!
